SHOULD I REPLACE OR REPAIR MY EXISTING APPLIANCE?

When your appliance isn’t working efficiently and is old, it’s easy to decide to replace rather than repair. Your machine is actually combining hot water with cold water to create the warm water. In our few cool months per year, you may notice your warm cycle running cooler. Otherwise, check to see if there is anything blocking the hot water from pouring into your machine.

AFTER I AM DONE WASHING A LOAD OF CLOTHES THERE ARE SUDS LEFT OVER. WHY?

In our area, you may not need to use as much detergent as recommended in the manufacturer’s use and care guide, due to the softness of our water. Try using less on your next load. It is very possible that you are using more detergent than is necessary.

THERE IS A TERRIBLE SMELL COMING FROM MY OVEN WHEN IT’S SELF-CLEANING. WHAT CAUSES THIS?

That smell is often the spilled food or grease left in your oven burning off. Prior to cleaning, wipe up any spills or loose food particles from the oven interior and door, and, if possible, create additional ventilation by opening a door or window.

ON AVERAGE, HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE FOR A LOAD OF LAUNDRY TO DRY?

A large load of laundry, on average, takes only 45 minutes to dry completely. If it’s taking more than 1 hour to dry, you should have your dryer vent system checked. Call DEWS and we can recommend someone to do this for you.

Our trucks are stocked with 95% of the most current, fast-moving parts so in many cases, we are able to fix your appliance the same day. Though we stock our trucks with as many parts as possible, at times, we do have to order parts from our distributors, which we receive in one to five business days.

CAN YOU PROVIDE US WITH A BALL PARK FIGURE FOR REPAIR OVER THE PHONE?

Unfortunately, there are usually several different reasons the same symptoms appear. Without being able to diagnose the appliance—using our knowledge, experience and test equipment—it would just be a guess. Many companies will give a quote over the phone yet when they arrive and assess the problem, you often end up getting another, perhaps higher price for the repair.

HOW DO YOU CHARGE FOR A SERVICE CALL?

Our service call includes a diagnosis fee and a complete written estimate of the work required for your appliance. We base all of our prices off the Major Appliance Service National Price Guide. By using this guide, we ensure that our customers are getting the best possible repair price for their dollar.

WILL I BE CHARGED AGAIN IF THE TECHNICIAN HAS TO RETURN DUE TO PARTS NOT IN STOCK?

Absolutely, not!

WHAT IF YOU COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR MY APPLIANCE?

During the first contact with the customer, we try to gather all the information we need to acquire the parts necessary for the repairs. Since it is not possible to stock every item on the vehicle, if we find we need to order a part, you will not be charged an additional service call fee for the return visit to install the part.

WHAT IF I LEAVE A CHECK FOR THE TECHNICIANS AND MY MINOR CHILDREN ARE HOME TO LET THEM IN?

Our technicians are not permitted to enter a home with only minor children present. Furthermore, before we begin any repair, our technicians must obtain approval from the responsible party.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE THE WATER FILTER ON MY REFRIGERATOR?

Most refrigerator manufacturers suggest replacing the filter cartridge at least every six (6) months, if not sooner.
